Padico Moulds
Padico has a range of cute molds for larger deco sweet items.
1. Push clay into mold until it is mostly full.
2. Press down on the clay in the centre.
3. Press down along the edges.
4. Press down once again on the centre, add more clay if mould is not yet 100% full.
5. With a ball of slightly less sticky clay, press gently on the edge of mold and lift quickly. (Use clay left over from a previous batch or scraps of clay rolled into a ball. Rolling clay between your hands for a few minutes will make the surface less sticky.)
6. Repeat several times along the edge of the mold until the molded item has been loosened or can come out of the mold completely.
7. If the molded item has been imprinted to your liking, allow it to dry. If not, try again. Practice makes perfect. ^^
8. Leave molded item to one side to dry and harden for at least 24 hours if using air-drying clay.
Verdict: I like the wagashi mould and the tart mould very much. They are easy to use as the moulded items are relatively large and can be lifted out easily with another piece of clay.
