Mini clay cupcakes are fun and easy to make--not to mention the fact that they look cute and rather edible.

You will need:
- Clay--air-dried clay or bakeable clay, it's up to you
- Parts (a goodly number of them--like ice-creams, cookies and chocolates)
- small-sized aluminum/paper truffle cups
- a toothbrush- silicon (white)
- piping bag
- piping tips
- acrylic paints in several colours
- containers to mix different colours of silicon whip in

1. Knead your clay and colour it in a suitably cake-ish colour.
2. Roll the clay into balls, place them in your truffle cups.
3. Using the toothbrush, make a textured cake-like surface for your cupcake. (If you are going to cover your cupcake entirely, the colour and texture of the base may not really matter.) Allow clay to air-dry. (Or bake according to instructions for bakeable polymer clay.)

4. If you are going for a dribbly sauce edge, glue sticks give a good effect. Using a glue gun, lace the edges where the clay meets the truffle cup and make dribbly bits down the sides. Be careful of your fingers!

5. Once this is done, assemble a lot of parts and your silicon whip.

6. Pipe silicon whip over your cupcake bases.

7. Arrange parts according to your design or stick them on "free-style".

8. Wait 24 hours for the silicon whip to set. Add deco sauce/glue paint to simulate cream sauce or fruit sauces. Glaze with sealant.
